Echoes of memory

They say that Time is of the essence, and I guess it's really true in a way. Once a moment has passed, it is gone forever, and nothing brings it back except the memory of the event, and even that is flawed with human fallibility. We seem to remember with clarity each occasion, but imbue it with either more bitterness or more fondness than perhaps it truly was. Our perception is tinged with that most damned of human senses: emotion. It is this emotion which leads to our downfall, but also our salvation. Forgetfulness is both boon and curse; and we never pass the same river of Time but once, and that fleeting instant can never be revisited
